I'm in love with our launch #trailer, it really capsulates everything the #game is. I want more people to watch it and tell me what they think. 😃

Since we are going down memory lane, here is @wisproy.bsky.social from @wispfire.com presenting on Herald at the very first TIPC back in 2016! You can re-watch the talk over at www.youtube.com/watch?v=A4or... and of course see Roy's return to TIPCs on the GameDev panel this Thursday!

you have to ask yourself..why of why are these AI companies going for the creative industries as their chief target?

What's the plan here,, how is that anything but straight up evil.

They could be out there curing cancer as their main spearhead and public facing facade. Why not?

I need other long18C, Bigger6, and 19C scholars to play this so we can talk about this game.

I believe in the EU, and have seen the good it can do. But honestly, this all feels like a distraction in the face of the crickets we hear when it comes to Gaza. The Iranian regime is dangerous, but the real problem in the world right now is the genocide that the EU is failing to address properly!

It’s #autumn, but it felt like summer here in #Utrecht. I love these shoulder months, they’re always a surprise what you get. 😌

Exactly this! The platforms we have are too limited. Indie films have lots of smaller arthouse cinemas, small theatre groups have local theaters, musicians have live music bars. Games… None of that. We only get to dump our work on huge platforms that put the most popular thing at the front, always.

Blegh, very tired of this take

The problem is not too many games. Not everyone needs to play every game. Not every game SHOULD need to make a huge sales splash. There is a problem with getting games to their audiences. It's a curation, literacy, storefront, scope, and legacy games culture problem.

WGA Statement on ABC’s Decision to Pull Jimmy Kimmel Live!
The right to speak our minds and to disagree with each other - to disturb, even - is at the very heart of what it means to be a free people. It is not to be denied. Not by violence, not by the abuse of governmental power, nor by acts of corporate cowardice.
As a Guild, we stand united in opposition to anyone who uses their power and influence to silence the voices of writers, or anyone who speaks in dissent. If free speech applied only to ideas we like, we needn't have bothered to write it into the Constitution. What we have signed on to - painful as it may be at times - is the freeing agreement to disagree.
Shame on those in government who forget this founding truth. As for our employers, our words have made you rich.
Silencing us impoverishes the whole world.
The WA stands with Jimmy Kimmel and his writers.

I was in a call once for a large grant, and there were 30 others in there too, and someone almost broke down crying because they just couldn’t understand it anymore due to the complexity of the process. It was sad, and it made me realize how excessive bureaucracy can gatekeep who gets to do art. :/

If international food counts, then I’d wager we have an almost as broad selection of international food here in the Netherlands, but isn’t that kind of cheating…?? 😅
wisproy.bsky.social
This, of course, is a broad-stroke observation. But it fascinates me to see how these underlying differences polarize us. I always hope we can overcome this with more education, but if bad actors get the chance to weaponize our flaws and even tear down our institutions, I have little hope left…

It’s as if they convince themselves that it’s ok if they wish harm on their enemies (otherwise they wouldn’t have those feelings of hate towards them), but it’s bad if others do the same. They can’t separate their personal opinion from the greater good. Which left-wingers often can, or at least try.
wisproy.bsky.social
They seem to have a hard time with the idea that people on the left can actually say that they dislike a person, but also not wish them any harm. Right wingers often want to conflate the two constantly, which is what makes it so incredibly dangerous for society as a whole.
wisproy.bsky.social
The one thing I’ve learned from all of the weird stuff going on in the world right now, is that most right-wingers can only think about any issue in connection to their personal lives and their private person. They seem to have a really bad perception of the broader picture of society at large.
wisproy.bsky.social
*Sigh* When is it finally going to be accepted when ppl say “that was what the Nazi’s also did”, and take it as something that is very dangerous and should be heeded as a warning. Because if we don’t condemn this rhetoric, it will only get worse and worse until people eventually think this is okay.

When I saw her I thought she was some sort of Indian inspired culture or something. Strange choice indeed.
