A weekly snapshot of where my books are at. Part creative practice, part gentle magic to keep me honest. Progress is progress, especially in a flare week.

What are you creating this week?
A soft purple, celestial-themed graphic titled “Jaide Dee Book Update.” Today’s date sits under the header A parchment-style panel sits in the centre. The parchment graphic is divided into two sections: Fiction and Non-Fiction. Under Fiction the updates are: “Veilbound Librarian” - Draft Word Count 47,244 and “Curse of the Selkie Song,” - Preorder date coming soon Under Non-Fiction are “Me Date” - With Beta Readers and “Magical Me Date,” - Section 1 in Progress Fonts used are Cinzel and Alegreya The overall aesthetic is witchy, calm, and literary.

Bestie's Christmas/NY/Sorry-you-have-to-stop-having-so-many-things present. A hair pamper day, first time I've been to a proper salon in nearly 20 years.

I look like there are three people in this cape. Gloriously blonde, Marilyn approves. Me post appointment enjoying a frozen coke that I regret now. I love this red on me. What do we think, a little outside AoNZ summer day book signing photoshoot?
The back corner of the backyard, lined with bushes and trees and probably a lot of weeds. A red mat is laid out on the grass, which is pretty brown but we're on water restrictions since it's so stupid hot so that grass is the main fatality of summer.

I found my clicker and took a photo of my clicker using the clicker. It feels very inception really.
A red clicker for taking bluetooth remote photos on your phone with a thumb pressing the button. This is probably like 8 years old at this point but it's still working fine and on the original battery, so not bad for like $3 If I vanish it means I opened some kind of weird portal and who isn't taking advantage of that these days.

Me dressed up for dinner in a black dress with red flowers, hair scrunched and curled, lips a browny sheen. Felt rather pretty really. Sitting in front of the Christmas tree to be festive In front of the fountain on Marine Parade as the water lights up purple. I have a slight orange glow about me from the sunset in front of me (not picture but go look at my pictures of it if you haven't seen them because it was crazy) My walk this morning, Santa Hat Gremlin teacher on but no hat because I tidied up and it wasn't by my handbag and I just didn't really think about it until half way through my walk because I'm a muppet Me on the chair waiting to be able to leave last night, repping the myspace downward angle so it doesn't die.

I believe sadly it's because of the smoke from the Fernhill fires.
A different archway as the sky began to turn darker looking back toward the old buildings A close up shot across the pedestrian crossing as it grew even deeper orange Looking across the buildings, the sky looks like it's on fire. Looking in th other direction with the sky blues and purples, the fountain lit up maches with a pale purple on the water and pink and green on the base. An absolutely gorgous night, and a balmy 25 degrees

The sunset tonight at Napier, looking back through an archway. This was at the beginning when it was so yellow, it got deeper and darker after this. Just wow, the clouds were so textured and impressive.

5pm and all is well
A backyard with a lovely blue sky above it. It's a pleasant temperature with a soft occassional cool breeze. Not picture is that I'm sitting on the cobbles with a kitty who keeps moving just out of reach so I have to move again. It's a ridiculous game and a fist shake at the first cat to think it up and teach it to all other kitties.
