It's quarter past 12, I am in a work call and someone is voicing concerns about the punctuality of their lunch kibble. Nevermind that there will still be half a breakfast portion left at this point.

After a somewhat heated argument about sleeping locations (I had the unreasonable expectation that ongoing knitting in precious wool was off limits), we compromised on my legs and finished knitting. It was made clear to me though that this was a substandard outcome for her.

Had a few excellent days "up north" in Edinburgh and Inverness with some magical autumn colours. And of course much knitting on the trains!

I usually have the last Haruki Murakami book in my to read pile but tried out another Japanese author this break: Syou Ishida's "We'll prescribe you a cat". It's rather good - so good I'm looking forward to part 2 coming out later this year. And features a clowder of cats. #holidayreads

A selection of cats from Lanzarote, because why not. (Excellent looking feeding, water and shelter programme by the local cat protection society in the part we stayed, btw.)

The slightest increase ever. 😂 I'm hoping there's a typo or rounding issue in the background to explain 70.4% vs 70.4%. Or someone with better maths put me right...

You know a Brit’s really mad when they beg your pardon, then suggest something may have escaped your attention, before apologising for being close to losing their patience. Upon reaching boiling point, there’s a chance they’ll issue the killer blow of offering you their regards.

Finally finished it off - now my rainbow leftovers from the catvent wrap are truly used up. Two versions of the #flax sweater from Tincanknits: played with stripes (2+5 and 3+4 row colour changes), sizes and added a roll edge on the neck in the second version. They'll brighten up autumn and winter!

Quite possibly the wrong season to finish this one ... but will be snuggly in autumn! Pattern is Ballerina from Hanne Falkenberg - partly picked it because of the interesting construction: sideways with short row shaping. #ballerina #cardigan #knitting

There's a conspiracy to stop me reading my book. Apparently it makes a good cat pillow.

Today's lateral thinking: if none of the pumps in the house fit the paddling pool valve ... hairdryer on cold setting and funnel to the rescue. Fastest pool inflation so far!
