Sorry, this is just my annoying train of thought. I don't have many people to talk to about these books

Okay, but she's way more than just "hard to catch" and the relationship between Geralt and Yennefer is frankly refreshing

The books were released in Polish from 1990 through 1999 but didn't begin recieving official English translations until 2007. The Tower of the Swallows wasn't translated to English until 2016.

I am so deeply curious as to how the books ended up with such progressive themes. Is it Mister Sapkowski himself? Is it the nature of the English translations?

My therapist, "Hm, yeah, that sounds like depression." Yeah, yeah... It's such a constant in my life that the vast majority of the time I don't really think about it

The Witcher books are filled with women characters who are actually 3 dimensional, not limited to traditionally feminine roles, have complex emotions and stories, and are treated with a level of respect I wish I could expect from more fantasy series.

honey...you've got a big storm comin'. The source material is just like that. The first season of the show barely deviates from the source material and not in a "made some characters women just bc", no I mean the plot.

I have so much to say about The Witcher books. First of which being, that to whomever was pissed about the streamed TV series being "w0k3" and thinking they changed the story just to make it appeal to The Libs(tm),
