Districts are required to submit an annual detailed report of all the major maintenance projects ranked by a need score. A good system. The State Department of Education compiles the needs and rank. The legislation should fund a chuck each year. Past years DOA. With no fiscal plan doomed.

A comprehensive few loop hole tax on income is the only thing that would work in Alaska. Why should not every person and sector of the economy contribute to shared governmental services? Targeting the depleted oil industry likely leads to diminishing returns. Sales tax is regressive DOA.

They need more staff. It takes over three hours on hold to reach a representative. The SS offices in Alaska only have a 40 day forward schedule which last we called was fully booked. Many routine procedures can’t be done on the web site! You underfunded basic services this is what happens.

As long as frack wells can be had the Arctic is too risky an investment. Even with lots of leases little to no bidders. The current Biden administration expanded leases offers for Cook Inlet but very limited bids. The combative rhetoric likely will spook off any serious investors.
