Now that I'm free of VOA's social media policy I've started making YouTube videos about Thailand. It's no good but watch it anyways. Thank you.

When I finally published a book, something that was the culmination of my life in many respects, and it flopped miserably, I lost my identity as a writer, and shelved my second book. That was years ago. I thought I’d just move on. But I can’t. It’s my passion. It sucks to suck at your passion.

I wrote a #novel that didn’t fare well commercially, but I can say this: Writing it was a defining act of my life. Indulging that part of yourself which wants to communicate beauty & truth, turning it into something real that others can experience, no matter the medium, is so profoundly human.

I still dig this picture. And my debut novel Lana Walked on the Shore is still available, well, lots of places, but I'll post this link 'cause it's easy, although a bunch of outlets carry it worldwide.Cheers! amzn.to/3gN58p2

Deci was one of my best friends from my time in Belfast, a talented, loving gem of a person, and I am so proud of him. Even in losing his hearing, the music lives in him, and through perseverance, he has found a way to keep sharing the sublime with us.
