27 years ago, two years after the introduction of effective HIV treatment, the Bay Area Reporter, San Francisco’s lesbian and gay community newspaper, ran ‘No Obits’ as its headline.
It was the first edition not to report an AIDS death in almost 15 years.
The Bay Area Reporter front page, 13 August 1998.
The headline ‘No obits’ is written in red above the lead story.

One of the most moving panels in the UK AIDS Memorial Quilt is the one that no-one sees.
It remains covered up because the parents of the person who died are ashamed.
HIV stigma creates barriers to testing and treatment.
It perpetuates the epidemic.
#MakeStigmaHistory
A white panel has been pinned over a panel of the quilt.
There is a note attached which reads:
This panel was made by a friend for a friend.
The parents do not want this panel to be shown anywhere.
The stigma still exists.
Until this changes this panel will remain covered.
A red ribbon is not enough.
The quilt is not enough.
What will it take?
Attitudes must change.

Today would have been the 80th birthday of Terrence Higgins.

Born on 10 June 1945, when he died on 4 July 1982, he was the first named person to die in the UK of an AIDS-related illness, hence @tht.org.uk named in his memory

This is beautful. And so simple.

Queer people are scared. This is all you have to do as a cis het person to help take some of that fear away.

For noen kan et lite regnbueflagg bety at vi føler oss tryggere. Man ser flagget og tenker; « her kan jeg passe inn»
En enkel måte å vite at jeg også blir satt pris på.

Veldig fin video

WHO, the World Health Organisation, announces that transness is not a mental health disorder.
A representative from WHO said "we have a better understanding that this is not actually a mental health condition. Leaving it there was causing stigma."
