These @workingfamilies.org memes make it clear that we have more in common with each other than the billionaires who are picking our pockets & stealing the wealth our work creates.

Together we are going to build a world where everyone will have the freedom to thrive — no exceptions.
Two puppet characters, Bert and Ernie, sit on a beach with their backs to the camera, one with their arm around the other. They’re gazing at the ocean together. Overlaid text reads:
“we will always have
more in common with each other
than with the billionaires
stealing from us all”
Small white watermark text in the lower right: @workingfamilies A lone black-and-white cow stands in shallow ocean water, looking out toward the waves. Overlaid text reads:
“i am done listening
to billionaires.
my neighbor is not my enemy.
we can build a world
where we all have what we need
to thrive.”

3️⃣ An anonymous group erected a statue on the National Mall that "celebrated" Trump and Epstein's friendship.

Even though they had a permit, the Trump regime was clearly very upset and had it taken down in less than 24 hours.

1️⃣ Google wants to build a massive AI data center in Indianapolis.

But people got organized and stopped them.

While Google would profit, this data center would steal from everyday people — polluting our water and passing on higher electric costs to residents.

The Trump regime wants us to live in despair and give up.

But in cities, suburbs, and small towns all across the country, people are coming together to protect our freedoms, our families, and our futures.

Here's some recent stories you may have missed ⬇️

Let's be clear: We should not call this a "government shutdown." This is our leaders saying

❌ No to the hostile takeover of our government.
❌ No to funding a war against Americans.
❌ No funding for fascism.
❌ No dollars for dictatorship.
❌ No bankrolling billionaires.

As hurricane season arrives in Florida, Central Florida Jobs with Justice started a campaign to organize people with a clear demand:

📣 Federal disaster dollars should fund building sustainable, permanently affordable housing with union labor.
Stormy sky over a city skyline with cartoon-style dollar bills flying through the air. Text at the top reads:
“LEAVE NO NEIGHBOR BEHIND.”
Large bold headline:
“FUND AFFORDABLE HOUSING AND GOOD UNION JOBS IN ORANGE COUNTY”
Below the skyline, white text reads:
“We, the tenants, workers, and community members of Orange County, call on Mayor Jerry Demings and the Orange County Board of Commissioners to take immediate action on our housing affordability crisis as hurricane season looms.”
Bottom text and logos:
CENTRAL FLORIDA JOBS WITH JUSTICE Aerial photo of homes and trees under a dark halftone effect. White and light blue text reads:
“For low-income communities and communities of color, hurricane season isn’t just preparing for the next storm. It means enduring constant displacement, evictions from skyrocketing rents, and the fear that the next disaster could push us out of our homes for good.
Orlando has already faced a man-made disaster driven by corporate landlords: the nation’s second-highest rent increase.
That is why we demand: federal disaster dollars be directed toward building sustainable, permanently affordable housing with union labor.”
Bottom logo: CENTRAL FLORIDA JOBS WITH JUSTICE Top banner graphic repeats the design from Image 1, with dollar bills flying and the text:
“LEAVE NO NEIGHBOR BEHIND. FUND AFFORDABLE HOUSING AND GOOD UNION JOBS IN ORANGE COUNTY”
Body text reads:
“Hurricane season is here. We believe disaster recovery funds should do two things: build housing that working people can actually afford long-term, and create well-paid union jobs for local residents.
Real recovery means we don’t get priced out of our own neighborhoods. It means the people who rebuild Orange County are the people who live here: earning fair wages, good benefits, and working under safe conditions right where we live 🤝”

Thrilled to see growing consensus that Dems must step up in the Continuing Resolution fight. Key to doing so? Refuse to frame this as "shutting down government." Instead, call it what it is - refusing to be an accomplice to turning the government into a weapon against the American people.

Americans across races and places value our freedoms – but MAGA is declaring war against Americans. They are:

🪖 invading our cities
🏥 stealing healthcare from seniors
🍽️ taking food from kids

We must come together to protect our freedoms, our families, and our futures.
Two-panel meme using images from Squid Game showing the same character with different facial expressions. Top panel shows him smiling with the caption: “protect our freedoms, our families, and our futures.” Bottom panel shows him frowning with the caption: “finance MAGA’s war against Americans.” The contrast emphasizes the moral choice between supporting freedom and supporting authoritarianism.

You are also basically guaranteed to never be heard because that rhetoric is Charlie Brown adults. Sounds like everything else. Instead, you must frame flip to centering evils of regime:

No funding for fascism

If you're talking about "Republicans are going to shutdown the government" "Republicans are the ones responsible for shutting down the government" then you're already conceding to the let's figure out who to blame shutdown frame. That's a process conversation that eclipses people harmed from view.

Sinclair, Nexstar and Disney walking back their capitulation to the regime has clearly incensed that extraordinarily thin orange skin. Double down - more refusal, more ridicule, more resistance. Not by might, not by power, by spirit alone shall we all live in peace.

Across races, backgrounds, and parties, we value our freedoms. But this MAGA regime of the bullies for the billionaires is occupying our communities, forcing the military and law enforcement on our families, and turning our government into a weapon against our people so they can seize more power.

The Trump regime is using the government as a weapon against our people.

And corporations like Disney are responding by silencing criticism of MAGA.

But this victory shows that we are more powerful when we join together.

As @nelini.bsky.social says, organizing gets the goods.

It took only a few days of people-powered pressure for Disney to reinstate Kimmel.

@tnimmigrant.bsky.social concludes with a powerful call-to-action for Tennesseans to stand up to the Trump regime's abuse of power.

"When we stand together, we are stronger than those who want to take away our freedom, our power, and our joy."

Check out this powerful statement from @tnimmigrant.bsky.social in response to the Trump regime sending the military into Memphis.

The statement calls out the Trump regime's lies and fear-mongering, and how they want to use federal troops to seize more power in our cities.
Graphic with a dark teal background and light grid pattern in the upper left corner. The TIRRC logo is in the top right. Large white text reads:

“The people of Memphis didn’t ask for federal troops to patrol their streets. They didn’t consent to having their city occupied by the National Guard. Yet once again, we’re seeing federal leaders seize power from local communities, using lies as an excuse to invade our cities. This started in June in LA and President Trump continues to use immigrants and lies about crime as scapegoats to expand his control in our cities.”
– Lisa Sherman Luna, Executive Director Graphic with a matching design—dark teal background, grid pattern in the upper left corner, and TIRRC logo in the top right. White text reads:

“As Tennesseans we must stand up and say ‘no’ to this abuse of power from President Trump. We will not allow federal leaders to use our cities as testing grounds for authoritarian control. At TIRRC we believe that together we have the collective power to reclaim control over our own lives and our own communities. Because when we stand together, we are stronger than those who want to take away our freedom, our power, and our joy.”

MAGA Republicans peddle propaganda and fan flames of violence. One fact is absolutely clear about America. There is a reason we live in fear for our lives: ready access to guns. There is a massively popular solution that the politicians collecting cash from armsmakers keep blocking: gun laws.

Allowing anyone to buy a gun and massacre people is a choice we don’t need to keep making.

5️⃣ Use contrast to show whose side the opposition is on:

🔷 Instead of helping schools, [Insert Villain] attacks public education.
🔷 While students need safety, they ban books.
🔷 Instead of solving teacher shortages, they go after LGBTQ+ kids.
wmtfaction.bsky.social
4️⃣ Call it out.

Some politicians stir fear about LGBTQ+ people—especially trans youth—to divide us.

We must support young people to be their full, authentic selves.
