i have a habit of telling myself i can't experiment with style until i've properly studied and spent a lot of time understanding anatomy and facial structure, but i feel like i'm getting nowhere and i still feel dissatisfied with my current approach. what would you recommend?

i'd really love to make more stylized character art, but whenever i try to move away from a technical approach in things like facial features or body proportions, i get very in-the-weeds with detail and wind up defaulting back to technique i learned in life drawing class. ;_;

As someone with thyroid issues & heredetary male pattern baldness activated from T, this genuinely does mean a lot. I've got breakage on the sides and back of my hair, yet my receding hairline still makes me feel the most insecure.
