The main reasons for being rejected were: no valid visa, fake documents or entry suspension. Over 2 days, authorities also detained 14 smugglers, carried out 48 open arrest warrants, & apprehended 9 individuals under extremism laws targeting hard-left, far-right, & Islamist ideologies, among others.

Germany has begun rejecting asylum seekers at its borders since the new government tightened immigration. Last Thursday & Friday, out of 365 undocumented entries at all borders, 286 migrants & refugees were sent back, including 19 who had applied for asylum.

Since 2019, 200 journalists have been arrested. Ethiopia went from being 110th out of 180 countries in 2019 to 145th this year, mass arrests & the detention of media workers across the country took their toll. Journalists have been killed.

In Ethiopia the term is often used in a derogatory manner against opponents and dissenting voices. Recently TPLF office in Tigray, which labelled its splinter group “Yihuda” & launched violent attacks, after disseminating this designation through its cadre channels down to the grassroots level.

Is calling someone "Yihuda" (ይሁዳ in Tigrigna or Yehudah / יְהוּדָה in Hebrew), or in other Semitic languages, inherently antisemitic? Or is it not when used in religious historical contexts?
