To get the 11% discount one has to mail in a receipt. Menards has never sent a rebate check or credit to me. What a scam.

Yes. I live in and work in the neighborhood. I often heard about this ice rink but had a hard time imagining where it was exactly. Mpls lost a lot of great old buildings with this mid-century "renewal" stuff.

Only recently became Cub when they bought Rainbow Foods, and was some other outfit before that. A local grocer.

All that lost parking, someone fund a PAC!

I stand corrected! I just remember never using that lot, just parking on the side streets.

Former owners of Rudolphs sold the property and helped finance the Pure Lowry apartments across the street that replaced Theater Garage and other parcels there. Loss of parking.

Yet for decades it was a happening spot on that stretch of Lyndale, without parking even then. It's a high profile locale. I would break it up and let a bunch of little business needing no more than 100-200 square feet operate there.

Right? Be great if we had a local station that was pro-city proud urban appealing to core cities mostly.

A gas powered snowblower came with the house we bought in 2023. Haven't used it yet. Prefer the vigor of shoveling. Brand new shovel too. Maybe will crank it up if we get like a foot of snow and neighbors need help, and pollute the air.

GAWD!! Property owners in Uptown need to adjust their rents first. Then businesses will come. Fun fact: I walked into a used clothing store in Lyn Lake where they told me they moved from Hennepin and Lake because the rent was too high there.

I would update the constitution to de-fang what the Senate can do. Treaties, SCOTUS appointments et al. Those ought to be joint House-Senate processes.

City councils in the US are tiny compared to some other countries. My aunt in Europe sits on a city council of 19 in a city of 10,000 residents. Larger cities have 40-50 members. Proportional representation resulting in 5-6 parties. There are no "one party" towns like in the backward US.

Thank you. I frequent the 38 bus that passes through GFS, it would be a missed opportunity to keep the D Line out. People boarding and exiting at GFS adding more people daily there benefiting businesses and increasing walkability.

There is never any discussion about truly reforming the system to reflect the modern age.

SRO's were common in the old TV shows from the 50's to the 70's. Like all the time. Joe Friday talking to a retired widow at an SRO..."just the facts, ma'am".

Exactly. I have an aunt that is a Green party member and is on her city council and vice-mayor, while the mayor is a conservative. Working coalition of CDU-Greens in small 10K pop city. No party ever gets a majority. No one party states or cities. Diverse voices represented,

Yes. In Germany they utilize proportional representation on top of the single member district. Voters have two votes on the ballot: one for their district, the second is the "party preference" vote. The "party" vote tally is used to make up parliament. Greens get 10% of vote, they get 10% of seats.
