I’m using Unity rn, there are a ton of resources to get started with it! I’ve also used game maker in the past and it was rly fun and quick to get a 2D game going.

Mechanics wise, I’ve got core combat going. I wanna add in some ways allow for customization/builds so the game is more replayable.

By that I just mean I dont want to make a “clone”. I’m still very much using design language from other games lol, but I’m not going to make vampire survivors.

I wanna force the player to do new and fun things, like how neon white’s gun card system set it apart from other platformers. Novel and fun

I know I’m biting off more than I can chew, but I wanna make something that feels unique to itself. I don’t really want to rehash a well worn genre but with “my art style” (cause I don’t think that’s much of a draw), I wanna make an exp you can only play by playing it.

Which means no blueprints lol

Solo dev is so labor intense and hard. Every time I want to add a new “thing”, I have to model > rig > animate > code > test. 😩 it’s daunting how long it takes w/ how many things I wanna add, I doubt myself if I’m even cut out for this a bunch

But then I get something working and it keeps me going.
