the page opens on a view of skeljamoli, a scarred woman dressed in a scaled, seal-skin cape, as she leans against her ship's railing and looks over her shoulder. a dialogue bubble says, "skeljamoli!"; the next panel reveals luka, a shorter elf with shaggy hair, jogging towards skeljamoli, once more saying "skeljamoli!" excited, they hold a seashell to their chest and say, "i want to show you something!" they bring the shell to their ear and continue, "villi just gave me this. he said it was a rare, special shell..." a closeup on the seashell. "but he also said that it plays voices, which i don't hear." off-screen, luka says, "so i wanted to know if you could hear anything!" as skeljamoli stares down with a single eyebrow raised. skeljamoli takes the shell, rolling her eyes in exasperation. as she brings the shell to her ear, drops of water flow out, growing into a wave. the water is colorful, mixed with blues and greens as opposed to the warm grey tones of the rest of the page. the wave crashes against skeljamoli, transporting her into the depth of the ocean. in the three middle panels, she merges with her sealskin. she breaks out of the last panel, free amongst the currents, schools of fish and forests of kelp. her form gradually gains saturation as she transforms. back in reality, the sounds of waves and seafoam come to gently rest upon skeljamoli's shoulders as her sealskin ordinarily would. in the next panel, she brings the shell away from her ear, pausing before she speaks. the saturation from the experience gradually fades, but does not disappear completely. skeljamoli shoves the shell into luka's chest and says, "it sounds like you and villi need more work to do." in the next panel, she rests her hand upon luka's head with a "bonk." "not to mention..." she says, roughly ruffling luka's hair, "it's 'captain' while you're on my ship!"
