THE APOCALYPSE CHILDREN is a new, serialized novel by yours truly, about young queer people in a world about to end, and their attempts to find each other, and a way to escape the apocalypse.

i'm hoping it gets picked up by gog's new "we're fixing the busted stuff" thing, it can be a pain in the ass to run and IIRC there isn't a unified fanpatch like for VTM Bloodlines.

deus ex gets all the glory of the ion storm games but anachronox's digital verisimilitude still feels prescient and with few peers. despite 25 years of games chasing the aesthetics of cinema, I'm not sure we've actually gotten more interesting than what this game was doing with its camerawork

thinking about anachronox in my fugue state. i really wanna revisit it, I still have such love for its cutscenes and cinematography, the way the camera swoops and flies through its environments like a drone, full of match cuts and zooms that have this disorienting eagerness to them

There’s a part in the third episode of Noozles where the twelve-year-old protagonist thinks her dad is a burglar (this show is weirdly obsessed with the threat of burglars), and her magic koala friends summon a net, a thick strand of rope, and a baseball bat to take him out. It’s a LOT.

my own experience with ryukishi is pretty limited compared to a lot of people in our circles so i can't speak for his work broadly but certainly F felt a lot like Zeta to me: something with broadly good intentions butdeeply suspect, unconfronted misogynistic ideas when you scratch the surface
