Interesting article. Without belittling the issue (which is of obvious great importance to people and for wildlife), the death toll is orders of magnitude lower than that caused by road traffic. Scholars getting run over by a truck doesn't make headlines, mauled by a hyena does....

Makes perfect sense. Have it trashed through wilful neglect, then blame its sorry state on "government failure" and then build a golf course in the valley and another mansion higher up. Great stuff!
