As a runner (and at the risk of being over-literal), I'm not sure the metaphor in this Green Party ad is a great one. Running is a source of mental, physical and social succour for many people. However, it's indisputable that Polanski is a smart communicator.

What a privilege it was to watch this last night. In our 'artificial' era, when we spend so much time with our eyes down, its message to pay close attention to the material of our daily lives was timely. Brilliant performances and a palpable sense of pride in Welsh cultural expression.

Genuine question from a non statistician, non epidemiologist. The latest UK Health Security Agency weekly flu report contains this graph which depicts a flattening of the curve. How do we explain this?

I love it. This is the first game that has cemented in my head, for the first time, why you put infantry in column or line, or the positives and negatives of square formation etc. A simple, fun system with easily digestible but subtle lessons and insight.
