We are having some super sunrises this January

Another glorious start to the day.

Last day on Islay. Started bright and cold. Squalls of sleet and snow passing through. Much discussion on whether we should cycle. Discretion won. We walked along the coast at Sanaigmore.

Previous couple of days have been very grey with continuous drizzly rain.

Lovely late afternoon mooch at RSPB Loch Gruinart. Weather cleared out to produce fantastic light. Many geese and wildfowl. Plus some inquisitive roe deer in the woods

Not really a day for photographs. Very, very wet and murky. Not been quite so wet on a bike ride for a long time. But lovely to be out; achieve my cycling target for the year, and to get back to warmth and dryness.

Boxing Day storm beach (Saligo Bay - Islay). A windless day but still the waves roll in. Remnants from the weekend’s (un-named) storm.

Merry Christmas everyone. Lovely day - some sunshine. Ride out to Machir Bay; lots of geese in the fields. Glass of champagne while cooking. Dinner and now sitting down to Wallace and Gromit. Cracking.

A gentle day; slowing down. Last minute groceries. Much needed cycle. Then the sky cleared.

Back on Islay for Christmas (and New Year this time).
Windy drive to overnight stop in Dumbarton yesterday wasn’t quite as wild as forecast. (Phew.).
