If we can be demons, we can also be angels. I don't mean the angels of pop culture. I mean the angels of the Torah, the Bible, the Quran. Angels are not passive beings. They are not fat children with harps or pretty, delicate things that flitter about all day. Angels are warriors. Bringers of vengeance and justice. They bear flaming swords and unbridled fury. They are the executors of Heaven's will, and now is no time for Heaven to be gentle. Devils and Angels. We created them. We are both of them. It is too late for the ruling class. They have chosen the Satanic. We in the exploited classes may yet still choose a different path. There are no more words. The path is laid before us. We must fix this. I wish I had more to say, but I don't.

I have that feeling now. Surely this isn't us. Surely human beings didn't do this. Surely the demonic is at play. Surely there is a place, far, far, infinitely far from here, that all this filth will one day languish in perpetuity. I don't care if it's a place of fire, of darkness, of steel, of ice. It doesn't matter. Just so long as it's a place where it can't get at uS. Some alien thing must be at work, right? In Mar-A-Lago In London In Tel Aviv In Dubai In New York In Riyadh In Paris In D.C. In All The World To take and to torture. To sell and to twist. We cannot have elected these people. We cannot work for these people. Tell me we do not read these people's books and watch these people's films, drink water from their reservoirs and drink from their fields. Poison water. Poison crops. I see now why we invented Hell. Invented Satan. But. We must follow these thoughts through to their conclusion. This is not the moment to merely shake with fear, damn this world, and wait silently for the next one. Realize the truth: no devil did this. Human beings did. The archdevils of Hell are made of the same stuff as you and I, and they have no plans to cede power. Human beings. Of every race, every religion, every nationality, every gender, every sexual orientation, every political party, every age. Human beings can create Hell if we so choose. Who's to say we can't also create Heaven?

I made a desperate attempt to parse my thoughts, analysis, sorrow, and absolute rage at the ongoing Epstein revelations.

Language largely fails, but I hope this helps you as it does me.

Not really. Not human words. Not animal sounds. I stare into millions of megabytes of damning data and find emptiness. And now I see why we invented Satan. Why we invented Hell. As a gay man in the American South, l've spent my whole life fearing Hell, hating the people who made up such a torturous lie. I still believe most talk of it is manipulative, deceptive, a scheme for control. But as I stare at my screen tonight, I finally understand its utility. I understand how, long ago, someone conceived of Hell and earnestly believed in it. I understand why they needed it to be true.

Turns out the ideas of our currect epoch belong to Epstein. We should probably do something about that.
Marx quote: The ideas of the ruling class are in every epoch the ruling ideas, i.e. the class which is the ruling material force of society, is at the same time its ruling intellectual force. The class which has the means of material production at its disposal, has control at the same time over the means of mental production, so that thereby, generally speaking, the ideas of those who lack the means of mental production are subject to it. The ruling ideas are nothing more than the ideal expression of the dominant material relationships, the dominant material relationships grasped as ideas.
