Just a reminder of why they were banned: a long history of violence and racism and unprovoked attacks on civilians in Amsterdam.

At the end of the Soviet Union, everyone knew that the government routinely lied to them but no one could envision a different system. Western leaders were convinced that Stlainism would last forever.

Then a stiff breeze caused it all to collapse in a matter of months. Take comfort from that.

Oh really? Perhaps you should try reading your own newspaper.

Spot on, it's cultural hegemony writ large.

Relentlessly kicking working people is not a hard choice, it's a fucking cowards choice.

In terms of tax, before you even raise one penny of income tax there is £46.8 billion of uncollected tax every single year so there is lots of money lying about to be collected from 'dodgers'

It's reminiscent of the Simpsons episode in which Professor Frink says issues this prediction

Hapoel fans are definitely "the wrong type of Jews"
October 20, 2025 at 1:13 PM
Just to be clear, it's a ban on far right hooligans who attacked taxis, spouted racist slogans burned Palestine flags & then got a deserved kicking after the game in Amsterdam. Oh & they have a long history of racist abuse including of their own players & political violence

Cry me a fucking river.

Maccabi are noted, even amongst Israeli ultras, for their violence and racism, to the extent that they have racially abused their clubs own African and Arab players.

They turned up in Amsterdam, chanted racist slogans, burned Palestine flags and attacked taxis. It was even reported by the Mail FFS

Maccabi Tel Aviv fans are notorious for their racism, abuse of their own Arab players and violence. They turned up in Amsterdam, attacked taxis, burned Palestine flag and changed racist slogans. Then after the match they got a hiding.

Siri, is this what "chat shit get banged looks like"

Very true. And a lot of companies are already very disappointed at the returns on their investment in generative AI, per MIT

Much like Trump, Machado took part in the 2002 coup attempt to overthrow Hugo Chavez (who had won a landslide victory in the 2000 election) and replace him with a military junta, signing the notorious Carmona Declaration in the process. But he it's Venezuela and he was an evil Commie so no-one cares
October 10, 2025 at 11:05 AM
I refer you to a recent MIT study on the benefits (or otherwise) of generative AI.

So it turns out that the Nobel Peace Prize committee saw fit to give the award to a person that played an active part in an attempt to overthrow a democratically elected government. It wasn't Trump though....
October 10, 2025 at 10:37 AM
The Bank of England is worried that AI stocks are entering speculative bubble territory. Not really surprising when you consider that a large amount of passes for generative AI is essentially glorified search engines.

That's what happens when you sack off building council houses
October 6, 2025 at 11:44 AM
On a similar note, something that rarely gets mentioned is the astonishing rise in the most regressive tax of all, Council Tax.

Council tax has gone up by 57% in 20 years, yet still doesn't cover the cuts to Councils from central government.

Remember when Elon did a similar thing to Grok and it started referring to itself as "MechaHitler"?

That chainsaw really worked a charm on reducing Argentinas indebtedness and reliance on foreign financial institutions didn't it?
September 22, 2025 at 3:13 PM
Especially when that "investment" largely involves hitching our wagon to the US tech bro oligarchy for a generation, and the building of huge data centres which may well prove to be power hungry white elephants which don't provide many jobs, according to er... the government.
September 18, 2025 at 8:23 AM
Spot on. It only existed insomuch as we were prepared to turn a blind eye to America's repeated interfering in foreign countries to back the worst, most brutal right wing dictatorships over and over and over again.
