Alberta is the only province clawing back the federal disability benefit. God, we are such huge assholes - rich and miserable.

It was never just about schools, it was never just about libraries, and it isn't actually about the books.

It's about finding a way to banish entire people, entire ideas, out of society, back into the closet or worse.

Texas bill could punish bookstores for 'obscene' books
A new bill in the Texas Legislature, authored by Rep. Nate Schatzline, would allow businesses to be held liable if a minor reports damages from "obscene" books.

Lots of people I know that were furious about kids having to wear masks are real quiet about a two year old citizen being wrongfully deported

Reality check: Harper's conservatives canceled universal childcare. I requested relief to pay for both child care and my student loan. I was refused because my childcare was licensed. You read that correctly. Also, they increased my monthly payment.

I went on drugs, all right. Antidepressants.

As President Donald Trump began to reshape the Education Department, investigations and mediations in disability rights issues came to a standstill.
Kids’ disability rights cases stalled as Trump overhauls Education Department
It was obvious to Christine Smith Olsey that her son was not doing well at school, despite educators telling her to leave it to the experts. The second-grade student stumbled over words, and other kids teased him so much he started to call himself “an idiot.”

Samuel L. Jackson, what a great actor who just says it like it is! I CANNOT believe that in 2025, we are still dealing with this crap!

Why can’t we just let people live their lives? Be who the fuck they want to be and if you don’t like someone, just ignore them!

Think twice before asking AI for sourdough starter tips or to help you write your pretend resignation letter. AI tech centres produce toxic waste (e.g., mercury and lead) and to keep cool, the servers will soon use volumes of water on par with Denmark. Why Trump wants Canada: H20

AI has an environmental problem. Here’s what the world can do about that.
The sprawling data centres that house AI servers churn out toxic electronic waste and are voracious consumers of electricity, which in most places is still produced from fossil fuels.

It's never been more evident to me that we each need to learn and teach the next generation how to be as self-sustaining as possible. This means growing food, canning, building relationships with local farmers, and caring for each other. Family docs who do home visits paid by the community.

Hell yeah. Hold the line. This is what we need people to do.

Slow things down, don’t comply in advance so the courts have time to stop them. It’s starting to work.
Received a letter from POTUS today purporting to remove me as Commissioner and Chair of the FEC. There's a legal way to replace FEC commissioners-this isn't it. I've been so fortunate to serve the American people and stir up some good trouble along the way. That's not changing anytime soon.

i think it is important to say that the open and explicit racism of the president and the vice president isn’t just uncouth or “controversial” but a direct attack on tens of millions of americans and a dereliction of their duty to represent the entire country

I honestly believe our most powerful position in a toxic time that feeds on cynicism, apathy,& despair is to genuinely care and act for a better world.

Cynicism is our enemy. We should check it, incl. on the left. It’s not intellectually superior. It’s the virus they’re trying to infect us with. NO
