Thanks for your thoughts, everyone. I have found that I am more productive, more engaged, and more integrated with the teams when I am in the same room as them. You don't have to agree, of course, but since that was the model for years, it must have some benefit.

As disruptive as it is, in general, the benefits of working from the office outweigh the costs. Having said that, people do need desks.

Better candidates and issues that affect the heartland - as opposed to just the coasts - may also help.
