I can say I have seen a shift in my local community which I'm very glad, but it's hard to keep that up when globally the narrative is to hate men for being men instead of hating the patriarchy

How big of a loser am I to be worrying about my weight and looks while my country could collapse

the terf have gotten away repackaging so many current narratives it's so painful

I'm an activist and movement leader in my country and I have had to untangle these ideas so often 😭😭😭
It definitely has a high impact on the mental health of transmasc ppl

But I'm SO tired of the demonization of trans men and transmasc ppl, and as you said specially when so often it comes from inside the house

Which of course, is bullshit. We must teach about healthy masculinity and the alternatives to it without perpetuating the patriarchy, it's not impossible yet continuing the "men are inherently bad" narrative certainly makes it more difficult

A form of assimilation really, a wokely way to say "Nono, I'm one of the good ones!"
Oddly enough, if we go to the other side for fem trans men we also get demonized for "promoting" our fetishization. So basically the only acceptable gender expression for us seems to be androgyny

From what I've seen when it's from inside the community they bought into the idea that men = patriarchal masculinity, no other form of healthy masculinity exists, which means masculinity= patriarchy = bad. So, a lot of them fear being bad for being masculine or a man

and especially antitransmasculinity bc ppl still go heart eyes over certain masc men when they are cis but the same ppl the second a transmasc person does the same thing they are "reinforcing the patriarchy" it's so fucking stupid
