I don't know, all the positions related to women's rights and health have been eliminated because woke.

Good god who cares?
March 28, 2025 at 9:37 PM
Well I would hope not but you may be right.

The law is not restricted to paying for votes for a particular candidate. It's illegal to pay someone to vote at all (or refrain from voting).

He weaseled around it before by paying people to sign a petition, but this is a clear violation.

The bulk of Paul Weiss clients are corporate and lots of international. They are not ideologically driven; they want a law firm that can make deals and has a good relationship with the gov't.

Paul Weiss made a cowardly and shortsighted decision, but a rational one.

That said, it very likely will make some clients or potential clients have second thoughts about their representation. But some others may find the capitulation advantageous, because the firm has some positive relationship with the mob boss.
March 28, 2025 at 3:13 PM
Well, it's a bit complicated. If they capitulate, they maintain their security clearances. In essence, the very ability to represent many of their clients. If a client were to leave, they would have to find a firm that is in the government's good graces to represent them.

Because the only people who like what they do are already committed to their side. Their tactics are disliked by most people and all of those they would seek to convince.

Labour won despite them and for other reasons.
March 28, 2025 at 2:32 PM
They didn't help and they didn't succeed. Labour won the election. These people only hurt the cause with their antics. Labour won despite them.
March 28, 2025 at 2:30 PM
They didn't achieve anything. Labour won the election and they were already against new licensing.
March 28, 2025 at 2:29 PM
I guess they stopped oil.

The cowards will definitely regret their decisions. It's going to be tough going for those that stand up, but the more that do, the more others will join the fight.

It's insane that the taxpayers will be paying millions upon millions to fight the losing side of this illegality.
March 28, 2025 at 2:13 PM
They are settling because they are businesses and it's the best way to not disrupt their revenue.

The true targets are the firms. The clients are a pressure mechanism. They want no lawyers to dare argue against them in court. On anything. It's absolutely illegal.

Bringing back the good ol days.

And at the same time exhibit very little interest in actually trying to elect Democrats.
