Also, while boring, if you buy all white, you can add pieces along the way (platers, gravy boats, butter dish, etc) or replacements without it looking disorganized or having to invest in a whole new set because they are going to stop making basic white.

While I don’t personally use Corelle, I grew up with it. It’s extremely light & long lasting. As a warning printed patterns will fade. As a rule of thumb, if you can buy twice the number of table settings that you have, this allows you to have a full dinner served & plates still clean for breakfast.
