My college dorm cafeteria would post a sign with the daily dinner options; sometimes they'd offer Arroz con Pollo and without fail I'd think "Oooh, Mexican food!" and then be disappointed to see simple chicken and rice. The words just never registered and I went through the same cycle every time

I was at a recycling center recently and a man on a bike rode up with a bag of aluminum cans strapped to him. He had shorts and a halter top and a bright yellow wig with a long braid down the back, like a German peasant girl who should have been wearing a dirndl.

Recently I've been seeing a flock of wild turkeys when I drive by a local park but my glee at seeing them is sadly not reciprocated. Shouting "Turkeys!" and honking at them gets me baleful looks in return.

This stormwater drain had some more dramatic signage around it about getting blasted by sudden jets of water but I gravitated to the oddly passive "Stormwater Not Recommended"
