Capitalists please explain to me how proprietary software with the full force of a profit driven company behind it can't keep up with free and open source.

You're an enabler

Tbh I think trying out another distro is going to be a good thing - it will give me first hand experience with something other than Pop that I might be able to recommend to people going forward.

As much as I love Pop I'm not sure it's the best choice for everyone, even once it's in a better state.

Seems to be accurate now.
Don't forget that you have many alternatives!

Yeah it definitely takes a bit of time.

I was able to install linux on a second hard drive and dual boot between windows and linux which helped. Highly recommend doing it that way if you're able, being able to transition over a little more gradually is nice.

I don't have a lot of reach, so I don't know who will see this. But if you're an artist and you've wanted to make the switch to linux but don't know how - reach out. I'll do what I can to help you.

Linux is super viable in 2026, for art, for games, for whatever. So pick a flavour. Join us. Be free.

It might not be an easy process. Learning a new operating system is work, and you'll have to rethink how you do some things. You might have to abandon some of the software you're used to and learn something new.

But in exchange for temporary discomfort, you'll get newfound freedom from big tech.

Took forever to post this because I couldn't get the CSP timelapse export working on Linux. Then I remembered I could just run the export on my iPad 😅
