A couple of years ago I did a series of drawings of Edinburgh neighbourhoods.

I know now that I’m not a big fan of drawing architecture, so I won’t be doing more, but these are a nice reminder of my early days in illustration.

This is Circus Lane, the most photographed street in Edinburgh.

Because of these two posts, and considerable bitter experience. Even if you design the regulations the right way, the silo-cultural nature of our various building/zoning depts means they will still use discretionary authority to escalate details, demands and requirements.
