Sifting through ancient files so I can banish Nestle back to hell

Basically my brain has a hack that makes me good at things but because of this hack I lack any sort of real foundation and that screws me over when I try to Get Good

I've run into this with a lot of things lately, but the big one that just hit me is trying to learn Javascript. Like, I can grasp basic programming very easily; this stuff is not hard. But when I run into problems with even a minor amount of complexity, I'm 100% lost

I think I need to work on this, as when I try to start getting properly good at things I wind up exposing a lot of big knowledge gaps because my innate understanding cannot just instantly grant me specific knowledge, only strong intuition.

Because of this, I've seldom put real effort into things that fail to hold my attention for even short periods of time. The subconscious logic is something like "This isn't interesting, so there's no reason to practice/learn it because I'm already good at it"
