Your experience with Flair mirrors my own. I became a fan in 2002 and loved Flair's antics. I knew he was a legend but didnt know until l I read his autobiography where I learned his history. It was restored my love of wrestling after Hogan's book for some reason damaged it. Can't remember why.

I concur with all those sentiments. Humans are good at decompartmentalising the good and bad. I get also as well WWE is the dream and be all and end all for many and the sad reality is, that toxic behaviour isn't exclusive to wrestling

When I listened to her audiobook, I genuinely found it bizzare how lackadaisical she was talking recognising the issues in wwe creative and presentation of wrestling and yet accepting that this is what it is despite the gaps in logic suprising and yet not. Some folks seem to 'accept' things

There's also a paradox of his characterisation. Moxley fluctuates between being so badass and cool that he is either a living, breathing action hero ripped from the movies, or a caricature of that same trope. Rarely is he inbetween and I live him for that

It's ironically the same methods anti-AEW fans use to dismiss us as a tribe.
Part of the issue is:
1) Folks take opinions as facts.
2) Written text is toneless and intent easily misinterpreted
3) Some folks don't want debate or discussion, or bluntly don't know to communicate.
