I’m spending the weekend reading Honoree Fanonne Jeffers’ newest nonfiction, Misbehaving at the Crossroads. It delves into the emotional and historical tensions (race, gender, class, and legacy) that shapes the lives of Black women, weaving in Jeffers’ story alongside those of her ancestors.
