If that's the case, I'll have to give it another try! I'm still enthralled by the setting, but the first book lacked a plot or characters that really hooked me.

I really can't recommend Shashka's stuff enough. Man is a master at making bizarre, outlandish scfi full of heart and soul.

The world is wonderful and I can imagine the countless adventures that takes place on it. It really is the lack of plot that made me lose interest. Each chapter being an isolated short story isn't bad, but it's just not what I'm looking for.
I'll defiantly be coming back to it to finish it later.

24. Dying Earth by Jack Vance
Sadly couldn't bring myself to finish this one. The worldbuilding is phenomenal. A dreamlike Earth slowly revolving around a dying sun with wizards caught up in petty rivalries and mad with power. But there isn't much of a plot, switching characters chapter by chapter.
