Excited to be here
If I were Labour prime minister I would want strong successors waiting in the wings to carry the torch in the event of my inevitable demise. Particulary when Reform are lurking, waiting to dismantle everything. But I'm naive, not particularly ambitious and just want the best for the country.

I think the two go hand-in-hand. Fragile ego, ambition, opportunism, rejection, believing your own lies...

People don't suddenly wake up with changed political views. It's a process born from things like circumstances, experiences, principles, network bubbles...

i.e. radicalisation.

For me there is a distinction between policies and principles. Sometimes it is necessary to change policies, but it should rarely be justifiable to change principles - and anyone that does, isn't to be trusted.

Conservatives have gone up in my estimation today - they are slowly losing the chaff.

Still wouldn't vote for them in a month of Thursdays, so my view is worthless.

Free speech but not hate speech or misinformation.

Tice using SEND children in the same way that Reform use women's safety - entirely selfishlessly and hypocritically.

I always remember him and his impressionable admiration as Boris Johnson spun him the lie about his hobby of making cardboard buses (in order divert attention from his other bus lie - the £350m to the NHS). Then later Johnson gave him a life peerage at the age of 31. youtu.be/gLcCZjDoWTQ?...

FIFA used to hide their corruption. Now they don't. That's the difference.

Usually the mega rich are mega rich precisely because of their love of money, and the wealth they have only fuels the desire for more. In Trump's case, it is even more obvious. Plus, he protects the wealth he inherited not through savvy investments but by bullying and intimidation.

They were even in the right order, just missed out some in between.

Unhelpful. Lies upon lies do not bring about the truth.

I suspect the joke that someone is waiting to say is...

But only one of them is good at maths.

It's a reflection of the right-wing media bias, split between Reform and Tory.
December 11, 2025 at 6:24 PM
They will be left with those not quite extreme enough to join Reform but too weak to stand against the nonsense of the last few years. Chris Philp is probably a typical example of the modern Tory... the soundtrack of Benny Hill ringing in our ears.

I wish we had the ability to go back in time... 20, 30, 40 years and show this to our younger selves or previous generations. We and they wouldn't believe this is the US President. We and they would rightly think these are the words of a deluded lunatic. It's beyond parody.

Journalists these days are so naive.

Or maybe it's me that is naive.
