HAPPY BIRTHDAY, North Cascades Highway! On this day in 1972, the final section of SR 20 North Cascades Highway opened, completing a project nearly 80 years in the making.

The @cascade.org Seattle to Portland ride is this weekend! 🚴

Please use EXTRA CAUTION near cyclists as you share the road! Drivers:
-Check mirrors before turning.
-Give extra space when passing.
-Respect cyclists' space.
-Slow down on narrow/windy roads.

A Wild West Weekend is ridin' into central Puget Sound with full closures on SB I-405 in Kirkland, NB I-405 in Renton, SB SR 167 in Kent (all weekend) and SB I-5 at the Seattle Convention Center (overnight Fri to Sat). Giddy up.

It's JULY, which means two things: 1) it's officially summertime and 2) the new SR 99 tunnel toll rates are in effect.

This is part of a planned rate adjustment schedule adopted in 2018. Revenue supports ongoing maintenance, operations & repayment of construction costs. @goodtogo.wsdot.wa.gov

We’re aware of reports that SR 123 Cayuse Pass is still showing as closed on Google Maps.

Chinook Pass is OPEN.

We’ve contacted Google and have asked them to correct the error.

Our highway speed cameras have tracked 47 vehicles going more than 100 mph on I-5 and I-90 IN ONE MONTH.

Since the program began in April, we’ve mailed safety messages to more than 6,000 drivers encouraging them to lower speeds/prevent crashes.

Crews in this area report numerous speed-related incidents and hope the presence of the camera encourages everyone to slow down. The cameras will capture images of those speeding and issue infractions, but we hope it doesn’t come to that.
