It's where Morgan McSweeney's influence is most clearly seen. A lot is made of his "defeating the BNP" in Barking and Dagenham, but all he did was have Labour lurch massively to the right and copy them. It's what we're seeing now, but against a party that won't just dissolve away.

Wow - that name takes me back. I just had to check and it is indeed the same Alison I interviewed for the local paper when she got all A*s at GCSE 😂Seeing as I was a former pupil of that school as well, it's great to see she has gone on to do such amazing things!

I'm assuming the sudden use of "gimp" and even "the orange ball-chewing gimp of Brussels" by Boris Johnson and Daniel Hannan in recent days are homophobic dog-whistle references to this nonsense - given that they've not previously used this sort of language and it has suddenly started now.

I wonder if she's panicking and seeking a grift because the additional support the Tories gave her, as the idea of an "anti-woke" agenda being successful in education was valuable to them, may dry up under Labour.

I think they've been scared off it because every attempt to push back on the rich - inheritance tax on farms of over £3m, or getting rid of the tax break on private schools etc - has been sold by the BBC and wider media as an attack on everyone, and the public has bought it hook, line and sinker.

I suppose you need to increase defence spending if you are making the world a less stable place by cutting foreign aid.

If this does happen, then I can no longer in good conscience remain a member. Now they won't care, and nor should they, about an individual member leaving - but they are making it impossible to stay.

What is even more frightening is that these angry, violent and likely armed people now also believe the President has their back and will pardon them for their crimes.

Jesus F Christ! I try to stick up for the BBC, as even with Robbie Gibb and Tim Davie pulling rank for the Tories I think overall it’s a force for good. But sometime it really doesn’t make it easy to defend.
