Good morning with the 5th part of my #etymology series: Friday.

Origin: Named after the Norse goddess Frigg (or Freyja), the goddess of love, marriage, motherhood and fertility. So it's "Frigg's day".

3rd day of my #etymology series. Today: Wednesday.

Origin: Named after the Norse god Odin (or Woden). Thus, "Woden's day". Odin is somewhat equivalent to the Roman god Mercury, so in Latin it's "Dies Mercurii".
