Never had a problem (blended family) except the time one kid lagged a bit and was asked if they were on their own but they were accepted as ours when they ran to catch up 🤣

I seem to recall the Spanish 'Tercio' initially featured a degree of 'sword and board' but everyone developed towards pike and shot pretty rapidly.
