@govpritzker.illinois.gov Why were the state police attacking clergy and cirizens protesting in Chicago? Do you have no control over your state?

The House budget bill takes care of middle and lower income taxpayers by preserving the EV credit for Volvo, BMW, Audi, Mercedes and Porsches. It eliminates credit for Ford, GM, Toyota, Nissan and Tesla cars. GOP looking out for the average person.
May 22, 2025 at 1:43 PM
Budget Waste- The $250 EV tax will be COSTLY to administer. States have EV registration, feds will need to create a new bureaucracy to administer. Why not have EV charging stations collect tax per kWh (1 kWh=4 mi). The collection structure is already in place. Good practices match tax to usage.
May 19, 2025 at 5:26 AM
@aoc.bsky.social Why are EV charging stations not taxing for hwy trust fund. How do feds know what car you own. That is a state function. Lowers admin cost. Besides $250 is at least double what an ICE driver typically pays about $120 a year for 14,000 miles. Match miles driver to tax.
May 19, 2025 at 5:11 AM
@aarpny.bsky.social The budget bill has a $250 yearly tax on EVs. Given $0.18 fed tax, 22 miles/gal an EV will travel 31k miles/year to break even with ICE gas tax. Seniors drive 7.6k mile/yr. With ICE, this is $63 in gas tax. Seniors with EVs will pay $250 instead.

@chrislhayes.bsky.social AI like humans, if they spend all their time on X, they will believe X ( or Facebook, or Truthsocial, or Bluesky) they will think those comments are fact. Ot is the data used for training and Grok is heavy on X dialog.

Why are Democrats using Trump's term "Golden Age." The appropriate term is the 1890's term "Gilded Age." Gilded means it is not real gold, only the surface is gold. Gilding is meant to deceive the true value.

@maddow.msnbc.com You are right, Americans are protesting over, and over, and over and over. It is disappointing that you will no longer be leading those protests at 9:00. America needs your leadership, but sadly won't have it at this critical time.

Grok estimates that 80-90% of academic articles view tariffs negatively. Many of the positive articles find benefits to tariffs in specific sectors, not as a broad economic policy.

@squawkstreet.bsky.social CNBC is irresponsible by not clarifying Powell cannot change rates on his own. It takes 7 out of 11 votes. Trump is playing you or you are playing your audience...you decide.
April 21, 2025 at 6:33 PM
There are protests in the major cities in all 50 states every week. Have yet to hear about any Democratic (or Republican) elected leaders showing up. Maybe that is why the Democrat Party is polling so low. They are MIA except for AOC/Sanders.

@cnn.com Do some research besides reading the newspaper. Your news people are just lazy.
April 18, 2025 at 11:55 PM
@cnn.com Why is CNN ignoring that to lower interest rates 7 committee members must vote for it
Powell is 1 vote. CNN is being played by Trump and looks stupid. CNN needs to do a little research on topics it covers.
April 18, 2025 at 11:53 PM
Trump thinks he can control the Federal Reserve by firing Powell and appointing his own guy. Rates are set by a majority vote of 12 members. Once again, Trump shows his ignorance of how the government works.

@weissmann.substack.com Sending prisoners to a foreign prison for a life sentence violates the law. There is no provision for appeals, no provision for pardons, no provision for healthcare, no prevention of unusual punishment, and apparently no adherence to Congressional sentencing.

It seems that when Levitt accused Garcia of being a gang member, accused in two courts, with no evidence, she set herself up for a libel suit.

@weissmann.substack.com If the US cannot get Abrego Garcia returned, then how does the US get criminals released from El Salvadore when their sentence is up? How do they go up for probation?
