It will take a while… 😅 Weirdly, there aren’t that many MacBook modifications around. Or I haven’t been able to find them. Would love to see more of that stuff.

I really like the idea of hacking and fixing your stuff. I also like the aesthetics of cyberdecks and similar modifications. There is no need for things to be perfect, use whatever you can before spending huge amounts of money fixing it in the certified repair shops.

It’s also fun!

That sent me down the cyberdeck rabbit hole so now I’m thinking of not repairing mine but instead hacking it to accommodate a BT keyboard. It would have to be a 3D-printed attachment as it wouldn’t be possible to close the lid otherwise but I’m ok with bringing an additional keyboard with me.

Alternatively, they could make MacBooks a bit more modular so they can only replace the keyboard itself instead of 10 other components.

It’s crazy that it’s not possible to replace just the keyboard.

This made me think having a MacBook similar to Microsoft Surface would be great. A device that would likely be like an iPad Pro but running macOS to which you then attach keyboard. In the case of keyboard or trackpad malfunction you only need to replace those components.

The aesthetic of AI generated stuff will haunt children who are growing up with it their whole lives.

Very mindfully done. I also noticed clever use of alignment controls, very elegant solution.

Regarding smart layout, you should probably remove it to keep Sketch simple and maybe consider some of its unique features for this new system.

Really nice initiative! Reminds me of the era of indie Mac app packs.

Shaper3D is so fun! Feels like next gen software, while Fusion is sad and ugly (but still a standard).

Why not Prusa? They have great open product culture. You can fix everything yourself, mostly even with printed parts and they build their printers with their printers. Such a good company to support opposed to a giant (DJI spin-off if I’m not wrong?). I see it similar to Figma vs Sketch situation :)
