A bolide, or large meteor, broke up over South Carolina and Georgia earlier today, creating a fireball that was bright enough to be captured by GOES-19.

Wildfire smoke has overtaken skies above the Eastern United States.

This time lapse shows the drifting smoke over the last three days.

We are still on alert day for the possibility of severe weather. Strong wind gusts are the main threats but an isolated tornado is also possible. The timing of storms will be roughly 1-7 pm. Stay weather aware!
