Southern terminus of the MNR (Mid Norfolk Railway) the longest heritage railway in East Anglia and one of the longest in the UK. We are home to award winning gardens, based in a town with a historical nature with many listed buildings and local businesses.

This Sunday setback is from the 22 June 2019 J94 75008 Swiftsure is hauling a wedding train from the loop back into Wymondham Abbey hand signaled by the groom who is also a crossing keeper and signaller on the MNR.

This week's Sunday setback is from the brush factory in March 1947 and a poster advertising their paint brushes. The factory closed 38years later in 1985 and is now a housing estate.

As the 11:30 sold out online in 30 minutes we have decided to release the on the day tickets online also. So there are less than 20 seats per train that are now released on the website but once these are gone the event will be sold out with no on the day tickets available. Thank you for the support.

Due to popular demand the decision has been made to put on an 11:30 service for the Halloween event on the 31st of October. Online tickets to be released later for this additional service so do keep an eye on the MNR website.

Event open 10:00-15:30. Trains 10:00-19:15. Maroon timetable. Evening fryer. DMU services to the summit. History talks. Memorabilia on display. Second hand books & DVDs for sale. Informative trail for children also. Wymondham dementia support group stall. A piece of cake.

We would like to see this repurposed as a water tower for watering steam locomotives or a crew mess room for when locomotives changing trains and crew breaks.
