I think looking at other art and/or photo references and using them only as inspiration for what you're trying to draw rather than something to directly copy is a true skill in art. It depends what it is for me! I still have trouble with hands, as I sit here contorting my own to help in drawings.. 💦

I did get some words down on the ref sheet but it's easier said than done to come up with the character lore in written form - the hardest part is the things they like because that's a huge part of their personality!
