I feel like at least in SV the spelunking is there in the sense that there are large underground, self-reliant areas, but they're nowhere near as much as a problem to solve than it used to. I think maybe going through area zero was the modern closest? Hmm...

I relate to that. Smaller communities tend to require less moderation and be relatively warmer spaces. I've basically disappeared from big discords because of it.
