Everything Must Go - Dorian Lynsky

Really interesting overview of the western cultural history of various forms of the end of the world. More personally though, this is the first actual full length book I've read and finished in multiple years! Very happy to have spotted this in my local library.

Some notable omissions from the list I spy: the Metalmorph engine only has one card hit and it's not mandatory, Mimighoul has jack squat, Ice Barrier only has Trish at 3 and maybe swap frog, nothing from DUAD, only one goblin biker card, no lightsworns, and probably a lot more I'm overlooking.

- At the risk of being the 193rd person to gas Gnomaterial up and watch it flop miserably, I wonder if this is the time to shine for those terrible going second cards nobody uses? Even Book of Moon costs 7 points, people might have to dig deep for playables.

- I imagine the strongest decks would be ones that are competent, but too weak to have any high pointed cards, so they get to have a decent chunk of non-engine without needing to nerf themselves too hard. I haven't played actively for a minute though, so I might be out of touch here.

- Pretty much all relevant going second non-engine being pointed is spooky, trying to build a deck with a modern philosophy might end up eating your options quick (I think the only one not on the list is exactly D.D Crow?)
- No links means no S:P or Knightmares, removal is gonna need to be bespoke

Okay, some actual thoughts:

- Someone's probably gonna do some bullshit with butterfly dagger elma at 1 point.
- It feels kinda janky that there are still a bunch of cards that are no goes but they can't ban em so they put em at 100 points instead. Last Will for example.

Was put up to listen to this by two of my little cousins. Enjoyed my time with it a fair bit. Not sure if I'd listen to many if any of these tracks outside of their original context, but I liked the long term development of lyrical motifs and it had some fun takes on the og story
