Been reading through the Wayland specs recently, and it has just dawned on me, a Wayland protocol would be the perfect place to foster an open game input and display standard. i.e a specific role for games that normalises HID <-> game interfacing in a way that de-couples games from specific devices.

Sadly, these laws are never about actual child safety. There are many ways of approaching child safety without infringing upon the rights of adults, or placing unnecessary burdens on organisations. Child safety starts at home, yet almost no legislative focus is put on parental responsibility.
Unfortunately, Bluesky is unavailable in Mississippi right now, due to a new state law that requires age verification for all users.
While intended for child safety, we think this law poses broader challenges & creates significant barriers that limit free speech & harm smaller platforms like ours.

Dear Smart TV makers, avoid Vidaa OS like cancer unless you hate your customers. The only thing more obnoxious than forcing ads as part of the home screen is pushing an update that makes those ads unhidable and take up most of the home screen. #badtech

The US needs a fourth branch of government: a 'Council of Past Presidents' (excluding disgraced/impeached/convicted presidents) that collectively have special powers limited solely to preventing autocratic takeovers and abuses of power when ordinary checks and balances fail.

Idea for minimizing the monetisation of negative engagement:
A simple tick box that allows people to opt out of their comment counting towards engagement metrics for the purposes of promoting that content.

I like that it's both possible and easy to use your own domain as a handle on here. It's a great way to verify official accounts etc.
