Just realized I spent three years working on my first sentence—really makes you wonder about how long other authors took on their lol…

WORTH.

NO GOOD SCENE EVER SAYS THE SAME THINGS THE CHARACTERS DO! I’m gonna beat this into my brain because the best way to say something is by not saying anything at all, and far too often do I see a scene’s unspoken statement in alignment with dialogue or action.

A reminder to myself and everyone else for the new year—WE SEE THINGS THAT AREN’T THERE WHEN WE CREATE OUR OWN WORK! As writers we don’t use our own imagination—we shape from the imagination of others. “Apple” could be 💯 images. The more beta reading, the better!

Inspired by Arcane’s conflicts forming from the internal realms of characters and external structures of the worlds in which they exist. For Piltover, Silco sees barriers, Powder sees enemies, Vi sees corruption, Vander sees tragedy, Caitlyn cycles through all these, etc

Art for one of the settings indicated in my cover art—the Fleeting City of Dreams. A TRUE utopia with no form of fiat currency, all homes, heath care, and other physical needs are provided for free. How do I create conflict and tension in the story then? That’s my secret until you get to read!

This was concept art during the brainstorming sessions for my book cover featuring the story’s two primary settings — To celebrate and lead up to the publication of my first book, I’m posting the following:
