It’s also worth nothing that sometimes, type designations are misleading. Crosette, for instance, is considered a healer blade, yet she’s actually one of the best damage dealers in the game, particularly on Nia.

Zeke leans towards attacking but honestly he gets pretty good arts with most weapon types (like when something like Knuckle Claws give him a topple art. Mixing and matching Blade types also gives you some neat passives like a blanket reduction to your aggro.

Nia’s high Ether stat means she can work well with Blades who typically rely on Ether attacks, particularly cannons. And Morag actually really likes having at least one attacker as otherwise her DPS can be quite low and keeping aggro might be harder.

Just got my first ending in Silent Hill f

That might be the most overtly Jacob’s Ladder esque moments in the whole franchise.

I’m gonna be away on vacation so it’s gonna be a while before I get to play more, but suffice to say I’m hooked and I look forward to continuing and going for more endings.

In Final Fantasy Tactics if a unit gains too much faith they leave your party to go find God. Have you ever wondered what would happen if you had Beast Tongue and got a monster unit to maximum faith? Of course you haven't. No one has.

Makoto Yukimura was worried that Vinland Saga's farming arc and "I have no enemies" moment was a gamble that readers wouldn't like. I told him about the J. Cole meme from the Kendrick Lamar and Drake rap beef. This is how he reacted.

If “I have no enemies” has become a meme and people remember it, then maybe people will understand what I’m really trying to say through the story, which is that humans are immature, but we can mature. To become mature is to become kind. This is the foundation of what I’m trying to say, but it really has to be much shorter for people to remember. But it does give me hope that people remember these short phrases as memes. Then, one day, it will click in their mind what I was trying to really say in the first place.

Any fan of Pokemon or Fire Emblem owes it t themselves to play Bound Destiny. This is genuinely one of my favourite things I've played this year.

That said, this game was a delight an scratched some itches in ways I honestly never knew I wanted from a Fire Emblem game while giving me a loveable cast of characters I'll be thinking about for a long while.

And knowing I have two more sequels to dig into is hugely exciting.

Admittedly this heavy focus on narrative with a small roster of very strong units makes things pretty easy. You're not gonna be doing much strategizing when half your army makes FE4 Sigurd look tame.

But there are two more games to go and I'm interested to see this honed and polished.

There's a ton of variety in maps and objectives too. Which often makes for really effective ludonarrative setpieces. Having a full on survival horror chapter within FE's gameplay is a wildly creative and memorable touch and the game's full of cool twists like that.
