Fun fact: acetone, found in nail polish remover, will destroy the finish on your plastic bits. I got this really nice clicker style drain assembly with a built in strainer basket that is leagues nicer than the original moen one and a near-perfect match to the faucet.

Gotta be one of the best days in parenting; throwing out the diaper pail.

We're not done with them yet, but this can fills up super quick when they're bigger, and I'm so over emptying it. It's also gross, rusty, and smelly now that it's been through three kids.

A rather unpleasant surprise I stumbled upon today. This old cpvc joint is finally starting to fail. Conveniently enough, I had the right combination of doo-dads and bits to make a half decent repair. I'll be designing a new water supply system soon to finally get rid of that junk.

A friend shared his top 10 list without telling me the rules, so I made a top 10 list of 'cars that would make me smile assembled in a pole barn'

Now I gotta make a modern list, which is a real challenge for me.

I gotta figure out some sort of snow fence setup for the back yard. It builds up into a huge drift and if I'm not persistent, it'll thaw-freeze and I'll have a mountain of ice.

If it's not one thing, it's certainly another. Auger return spring broke recently on the snow blower. Easy fix, but not without waiting for parts to come in. I've got extras now, too.

This spring is what pulls the auger arm back and disengages it. Without it, the auger will keep spinning some.

That was by far the easiest O2 sensor I've ever changed. No heat required, even. Original, 106k miles. After breaking it free with a O2 socket, I was able to thread it out by hand.

New sensor is far more reactive than the old. We'll see what happens.

I ended up calling in to work today. Well, I couldn't call as I still had not gotten service back from the outage yesterday, so I emailed my PM this pic when I got back home. I did not feel like playing 'where is the road' at 6 am this morning without cell service.

Welp. Happy new year. Looks like this will be a year of repairs. We've been getting relentless wind all week, and it seems like the wind finally damaged something. I'll take this over anything else, though.

Then I wrapped them with aluminum, then sided up to them. I'm enjoying it not looking like it's perpetually being renovated. I have to finish up the small area where the two roof lines overlap, but that's going to take some time.
