xiv came out in 2013, so there was no hd 😉
the hairs are made from scratch though and aren't 1:1, like the miqo'te/viera versions have extra hair to cover the earholes
& the t0 devs actually said the hd models were modified from og fmv models (just smoothed textures and added 5 layers of gloss 😔)
