Playing the Jedi Knight story currently and found a Pureblood Sith who followed a strict code of honor. He follows the empire because he believes that the Republic has been attempting to genocide his species due to them mostly being Empire citizens.
I persuaded him to defect but also he's right...

The Empire is dealing with a reformist movement attempting to change the Empire from within and sort of "secularize" the government by limiting the influence of the Evil Space Wizards who just make their jobs harder with their needless cruelty and instability.
