I would recommend turning to Linux mint as it is very easy to adapt to when coming from windows.

If you have the online thing, you can gain platinum coins through various missions to unlock new profile pics or even parts of pics that you can mix and match to your heart's content :)

I still can't believe they actually named their spying/surveillance system company the government uses on the fucking evil crystal ball Saruman and Sauron use in Lord of the Rings. It's so on the nose it's absurd.

As someone who doesn't live in the usa, the fact that these practices exist horrify me. I'm glad people are starting to stand up for their rights. There is a lot to do still, but it's a good start.

My guess is it's happening because of the reboot that's coming, so they are updating their take down tools in preparation.
